  6. What is it?
  7.  
  8. nanoDVR is a video recording software which runs
  9. in combination with any windows capture device,
  10. e.g. cameras and TV tuner cards.
  11. You can record a video movie in MPEG formats,
  12. including VideoCD.
  13. In combination with a CD-recorder you can burn
  14. your movies to CD and play them back with a
  15. VCD player (many DVD players also support this).

  20. Installation:

  22. nanoDVR comes in one installation package.
  23. The only options for the nanoDVR package
  24. is the choice of the installation directory.

  26. After successful installation, your nanoDVR software
  27. is available via the Windows Start Menu.

  29. Registration / Demo / Commercial Version
  30.  
  31. nanoDVR features free MPEG-1 encoding for Hauppauge 
  32. WinTV users. 
  33.  
  34. If you bought nanoDVR, you got a serial number
  35. to unlock the demo. Choose Help/Register and 
  36. type in the registration code.

  38. After installation, nanoDVR runs in demo mode.
  39. A small logo of nanocosmos is blended into
  40. the recorded video image.

  42. Requirements:

  44. You need a capture device like Hauppauge WinTV
  45. to use nanoDVR. The device should support 
  46. overlay mode for good results.
  47. Recommended system is at least a 350 MHz CPU 
  48. with MMX support and 64 MB RAM.
  49. You need 660 MB free hard disk space to record
  50. 1.5 hours of video (VCD-format).
  51. Recommended minimum hardware is a P-II 400 with
  52. 128 MBytes RAM.

  58. Please choose a YUV based video format as possible.
  59. Best results will be with "YUY2".

  63. nanoDVR supports all kinds of MPEG and VCD formats.
  64. If you want to record VCD streams, choose the
  65. appropriate video format in the options:

  67.     352x240, 30 Hz for NTSC (USA)
  68.     352x288, 25 Hz for PAL    (Europe)

  78. nanoDVR may be deinstalled by the standard control
  79. panel process (Control Panel / Software).
